Maria Sturm, born 1993 in Ellwangen (Germany), started her musical career with a degree in euphonium at the Lucerne School of Music (of the Lucerne University of Applied Arts and Sciences) with Thomas Rüedi. In 2016, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a profile in classics. For the subsequent master’s degree, she specialized in secondary music education conducting and completed her master’s degree in secondary music education with honors.

Maria Sturm is currently working as a teacher for brass instruments & music theory at a music school. She is also active as a conductor, arranger & composer. Maria’s arrangements and new compositions for euphonium & piano are an integral part of the BrassTrail repertoire.

Projects

Brass&Balance

Maria has completed a specialist training as a certified relaxation trainer (WBG) at the Paracelcus School in Lindau. She has published her thesis entitled Brass & Balance – a relaxation program for brass players. The program includes breathing exercises, relaxation methods as well as stretching and loosening exercises.
